Single Sign On
(SSO)

 Optional Integration Feature

Single Sign On or SSO allows user(s) to log into multiple applications and websites with one set of credentials.

Login flow:

sso workflow
  1. A user selects the Sockeye Application.
  2. Sockeye sends a token (user's email address), to the SSO system.
  3. The Business internally will check to see whether the user has already been authenticated, in which case it will grant the user access to Sockeye's application and skip to step 5.
  4. If the user has not logged in, they will be prompted to do so by providing the credentials required by the businesses best practices.
  5. Once the business validates the credentials provided, it will send a token back to Sockeye confirming a successful authentication.
  6. This token is passed through the user’s browser to Sockeye.
  7. The token that is received by Sockeye is validated according to the trust relationship that was set up between Sockeye and the business during the initial configuration.
  8. The user is granted access to the Service Provider.

SSO Implementation

Sockeye will provide a detailed step-by-step configuration document based on the data and details we have in regards to the current Sockeye setup in place. And will be looking at details such as:

  • Current integration within CMMS and or ERP systems.
  • Which authentication method does the business's SSO system support? For example:
    • SAML - Security Assertion Markup Language
    • OIDC - OpenID Connect
  • What SSO Identity management system would Sockeye be connecting to? This includes but is not limited to the following providers:
    • Azure AD
    • OneLogin
    • SailPoint
    • OKTA
    • OpenAM
  • What the end-user login process will look like once SSO is setup?
